Owned and run by a husband-and-wife team Dexter and Gosia, Soul Chef Kitchen is a Jamaican takeaway located in the heart of Deal, Kent. In March 2020, after all our work was cancelled due to the pandemic (we had both worked as freelancers until then - Gosia as a events manager and Dexter as a chef), we quickly decided sitting at home and doing nothing wasn’t our thing and, within days, Dexter started cooking small takeaway meals at home while Gosia was delivering them on her bicycle.
A year and a half since then, we are now based at The Astor Theatre.

Soul Chef serves authentic Jamaican dishes with a twist using seasonal Kent produce from the best local suppliers who value sustainability and good quality. A passionate chef with inherited love for cooking, Dexter combines his Jamaican heritage with his flair for a contemporary cuisine and we strive to offer the most delicious Jamaican yard food with soul, passion and love.
